In Volnay in Côte d’Or, in the heart of Burgundy, the jean Claude Cluzeaud estate welcomes you.


A family estate for many generations comprising 6.50 ha of vines in the communes of Chorey-les-Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Pommard and Volnay. You will find a variety of appellations, from regional appellations to 1er Cru.

In the great Burgundy tradition, the know-how required to produce high quality wines has been passed down from father to son, at the same time respecting their local and typical nature. All our wines are matured in our estate’s vaulted cellars dating from the 15th century.
So that you can get to know our wines, a tasting room is open every day in a magnificent setting full of history.

History :

This family estate, founded in about 1792, has remained and prospered over several generations, and today comprises an area of 5 ha of vines under ownership.

According to our family archives, the estate was formed just after the 1789 revolution.
1792 marks the real start of a story of wine growers that continues up to our day, thanks to the Pillot family who, having set up in Volnay, began to structure the estate. .

Development of the estate really took off after 1870 through Mr. Edmon Pillot who acquired a number of parcels of land. His son Mr. Philibert Pillot continued to invest in vines. His wife, Mrs. Madeleine Pillot, who became a Chevalier du Tastevin in 1986 at the age of 88, was also involved in the business. His daughter, Miss Anne-Marie Yvonne Pillot married Mr Claude Cluzeaud in the 1950s, who endeavoured to modernize the estate and develop the commercial structure.

After the family estate was split in the 1980s, the Jean-Claude Cluzeaud estate was set up, today comprising a total of 6.50 hectares of vines. Currently Jean Baptiste Cluzeaud his son has taken over the estate, preserving the family tradition and know-how.
